Peace Out 2010

2010 was good to me, I think 2011 will be amazing though. I went through a lot of huge changes last year… left university, started my own business, moved to Hamilton. I did a lot of growing up. I’m going to be 20 in a month. That feels so old, but I’m ready for it. I can’t wait to leave my teen years behind me and see what this year has to bring. Stoked.

More blog entries coming soon, I haven’t had the chance to just sit down and write for a while. Happy New Years to all of you. Thanks for taking the time to read my ramblings.

Sleeping in the Forest

I thought the earth remembered me, she took me back so tenderly
arranging her dark skirts, her pockets full of lichens and seeds.
I slept as never before, a stone on the river bed,
Nothing between me and the white fire of the stars
but my thoughts,
and they floated light as moths among the branches of the perfect trees.
All night I heard the small kingdoms breathing around me,
the insects and the birds who do their work in the darkness.
All night I rose and fell, as if in the water, grappling with luminous doom.
By morning I had vanished at least a dozen times into something better.

Oh, Canada

I’ve never been to Europe, but I’ve always dreamed of going. I’d love nothing more than to just put my life on hold here for a couple of months, pack up my camera equipment, and peace out. I will do that someday.

However, let’s not forget what we have sitting right under our noses in Canada. It’s gorgeous here. I’ve decided that before I run off to an entirely different continent, I need to explore my home and native land a little more first.

Here are some photos I’ve gathered of Canada; hopefully they inspire you just as much as they’ve inspired me.

LOVE

To me, true love is the sweetest thing in life. That's why we're all either in love or looking for love. Sometimes you have to work for it- especially when life gets in the way- but I believe that true, deep love is worth fighting for. -Unknown
