November Favourites

First and foremost, my favourite thing this month and for the rest of their lives are my 2 kittens we adopted a couple weeks ago. Summer Rainn & Violet Ocean. I am the kind of person who craves animal companionship, and have been a little depressed lately because I miss Hampton and Chelsea so bad. Josh and I don't want to get a puppy until we have our own home with a fenced yard, but we decided to go check out the animal shelter to see if there were any kittens that we liked. As soon as we walked in the door we were drawn to 2 little grey kittens that were sitting politely in their cage and staring at us with huge sad eyes. I wanted them right away, but thought that 2 cats might be a little much for our small home. 5 minutes later the animal control officer had us convinced that 2 is way better than 1 because they keep each other company and wear each other out, so it's actually easier to get 2. Plus, they were sisters who grew up together and we didn't have the heart to separate them. They were raised by a vet and her 3 year old daughter, so they came litter trained, spayed, dewormed, vaccinated, and half price (in hopes that they wouldn't be split up). Done deal. 15 minutes later we were driving home with them in the backseat. They're such great animals. I'm not even the biggest cat fan but after my family adopted Mackie and Georgie 5 years ago there has been a soft spot in my heart for friendly cats. I couldn't be happier with Violet and Summer. They're hilarious and playful, but cuddly and sweet when I want them to be. So glad they're mine.

BlackBerry White Noise App; Josh 'accidentally' destroyed my fan one night because he hated how it was blowing cold air on him. But I am the lightest sleeper to ever exist, so I need my white noise. I downloaded the app because it was on sale for $1.99, and it's amazing! You can choose between Fan, Air Conditioner, Rain, Crickets, Beach, White Noise, Clock and Stream. Stream is my favourite. I sleep like a baby with this thing! I'm sure the iPhone has something similar to this too.

Sushi - There's this new restaurant in town that Josh and I obsessed with… Shan Hu. BEST sushi, and best Lo Mien I've ever had in my entire life. Very reasonable prices too. We can eat there and stuff our faces for $25 including the tip. Every time we go we're like the only people so the owner always brings us free stuff. Seriously love that place. I'm going there tonight actually for my sister-in-laws birthday!

Nut Bread - My uncle is an amazing bread maker and he happens to live just down the road from our home. Yesterday he brought over a delectable loaf and I use it for grilled sandwiches with cheddar and feta cheese, avocado, tomato, green onion and cajun chicken. SO GOOD! If you want to try something similar (my uncle keeps his recipes a family secret) you can use any kind of nutty bread from the supermarket.
