Shooting Bobbie and Derek's wedding was an honour. These two have become one of my favourite couples ever since I photographed their engagement shoot back in January. As I've said before, it's obvious how much they love each other- anyone who meets them will agree.
The weather on June 23rd was perfect. Sunny, cool, a soft breeze… I met Bobbie and her bridesmaids at the Mane Street Hair Salon in Owen Sound. Bobbie gave her girls matching kimonos to wear the morning-of. They all looked adorable!
After the hair and makeup was complete we drove back to Bobbie's boathouse on the lake. The girls excitedly slipped into their champagne dresses, while Bobbie got into her gorgeous ivory lace gown. They looked stunning.
Decorated motor boats carried the girls across the lake to the chapel, the same one where Bobbie's parents were married over 25 years ago. Surrounded by loved ones in a white church tucked into the forest, Bobbie and Derek became husband and wife.
These two are true outdoors people, so it was perfect that we shot their portrait session in a rolling field with magnificent trees and tall hay. Derek even brought antlers so the wedding party could pose with them!
Also following the rustic-outdoors theme, the reception was held in a renovated barn overlooking Gould Lake. It had been transformed with billowing white curtains, paper lanterns, and twinkly lights. So beautiful.
Bobbie and Derek, thank you so much for asking me to be a part of your special day. You two are truly perfect for each other, and I can't wait to see where God takes you!
PS. It's official, we can now be "married-couple-friends". Let's plan a fishing double date, 'kay? ;)
