On June 21st, I had the honour of photographing Ben and Ava's beautiful outdoor wedding.
The day began at Ava's parents' dairy farm. Family members who had flown in for the occasion from Holland busied themselves with last minute details (like holding a sleeping baby great granddaughter) while Ava and her sisters prepared for the ceremony. Her gown was gorgeous. I loved the casual elegance of the girls' bridesmaid dresses. And I especially loved the cowboy boots! My kind of wedding!
Tractors pulling decorated hay wagons transported the wedding guests to the ceremony site. An ethereal forest chapel had been cleared by the men of the family for the ceremony. A majestic team of white horses delivered Ava and her dad by carriage to the wedding. It was perfect! Right out of a movie.
After the bridal party photos were taken at a local heritage mill, we headed back to the farm for the reception. The family had turned their barn into the prettiest of rustic picnics. Twinkling lights, lace, tulle, vases of delicate white flowers, and red checkered place settings. I adored it!
Ben and Ava are two of the best people I have ever met. They are delightfully warm and welcoming to everyone they come into contact with. They just make you want to smile, especially when you cannot help but notice how madly in love with each other they are. It was a pleasure to spend such a significant day with them. I wish these two the happiest of years to come!
Enjoy your previews. :D
